What to do now
Three steps. We take care of everything else.

At home
First, a doctor has to examine the deceased and confirm the death. Call the family doctor, the out-of-hours medical service or simply us – we will arrange that too.

In hospital
Tell the staff that an Islamic burial will follow. That way nothing is started that would be hard to undo afterwards.
3
Then call us
One call is enough. From then on you do not have to decide anything you do not want to decide.
The path
What happens after a Muslim passes away
From collection to burial. We carry out every stage, and you are welcome to be present at each one.
01 · We come
Collection
We collect the deceased from home, hospital or care home. In Hesse, the deceased must be in a mortuary no later than thirty-six hours after death.
02 · Paperwork
The formalities
Death certificate from the registry office, registration with the cemetery and, for repatriation, the corpse passport and customs documents. You sign once, nothing more.
03 · Ghusl al-Mayyit
غسل الميت
The washing
The body is washed while covered, an odd number of times, usually three. Women are washed by women, men by men. Spouses may wash each other.
04 · Kafan
الكفن
The shrouding
White, undyed cloths, without seams and without adornment. Three for men, five for women. In death, everyone wears the same.
05 · Salat al-Janazah
صلاة الجنازة
The funeral prayer
Performed standing, without bowing and without prostration, with four takbirs. An obligation on the community, not on each individual.
06 · Dafn
الدفن
The burial
An earth grave, on the right side, the face towards the Qibla. Three handfuls of earth from those present. Without a coffin where the municipality permits it.
“Allahu akbar” is said four times, and each time a different part follows. In between, everyone stands; there is no bowing and no prostration.

اللَّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ

And then
after the 1st takbir
Al-Fatiha
After the first takbir, the opening surah is recited silently. There is no bowing and no prostration; the whole prayer is performed standing.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّٰهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
2nd takbir
اللَّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ
Allahu akbar
And then
after the 2nd takbir
Blessings upon the Prophet
The salawat is recited, the same as at the end of every obligatory prayer. Whoever knows it can do this step.
اللَّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ
3rd takbir
اللَّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ
Allahu akbar
And then
after the 3rd takbir
The supplication for the deceased
This is the heart of the prayer: asking forgiveness and mercy for the one lying before the rows.
اللَّٰهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ
4th takbir
اللَّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ
Allahu akbar
And then
after the 4th takbir
A short silence, then salam
After the fourth takbir there is a short silence, followed by the greeting of peace. The whole prayer rarely takes longer than three minutes.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّٰهِ
إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
We belong to God, and to Him we return.
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un

Burial in Germany

Included are the collection of the deceased, all necessary official and organisational formalities, personal advice and support for the family, the Islamic washing, the shrouding, the preparation and coordination of the burial, and a simple grave marker. We accompany the family from collection all the way to the burial.
Repatriation abroad

The cost of repatriation depends on the destination country.
